Highrise :Life in Korea and Cambodia ( It's not finished yet! )

Highrise: Life in Korean and Cambodia

After exploring the 'highrise' of Tola, who is a man living in Cambodia, I had a chance to compare my neighbors' life and his one. Also, I learned many things from the difference and common facts between each sides. First of all, let me start with my own comparison between the lifestyle of people in two countries, mainly focused on Tola and my neighbors.

Tola, is a construction worker, who are working in a construction field of a tall building. Also, he regrets his decision of giving up the chance of getting proper education and became a construction worker. He suffered poverty in his early childhood, and as a part of the group in construction team, lives a hard life in a tall building. He looks down from the highrise often, and he get depressed by the young adults who are riding motorcycles in full speed. He thinks that younger generations' lifesytle has been changed a lot compared to hims.

My father also works in a tall building, but he doesn't carry heavy things or climp up the corner of the building. He sits in his desk and check files, write documents using his laptop. He didn't have to give up his chance of graduating university, and the his workplace is very organized and clean. Sometimes, he looks down to the busy street, and there are many businessmen who are working hard as him.

Phnom Penh, where Tola is working, is a developed region among Cambodia. Many populations live there, and comparatively large range of job opportunities exists there. However, the situation is still too inferior compared to Korea.............
